Let us match you with the volunteer opportunity that’s right for you!

Driver Escorts

We need volunteers to assist in transporting older people and people with disabilities who are unable to drive themselves to various appointments or activities.

WHAT WE NEED:

Individuals who can commit to driving older people with disabilities to medical appointments including dialysis or radiation treatments and shopping or recreational activities

Who we’re looking for: Volunteers who are committed to helping older people and people with disabilities stay independent. Driver escorts must be age 18 and older with a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.

How it works: Rides are scheduled at the ADRC office and volunteers are called in advance to pick riders up at their homes, drop them off at their destinations and return them home again. Volunteers use their own vehicles and mileage is reimbursed.

Home Delivered Meals & Senior Dining Centers

Help is needed to ensure that older people get the nourishment they need to stay well.

WHAT WE NEED:

Home-Delivered Meals: Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to deliver healthy noon meals to older people in their homes.

Senior Dining Center: Volunteers help with packaging home-delivered meals, serving, and clean-up of the noon meal at one of the senior dining centers in the area.

Who we’re looking for:
Volunteers who enjoy being with and helping older people. Home-delivered meal drivers must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.

How it works:
Staff set up volunteer schedules in advance based on your availability. Volunteer drivers will be given a route and meals to distribute. Mileage can be reimbursed.

Wellness & Prevention

Prevention Programs provide an opportunity for older people and people with disabilities to get the education and support that they need to live health and independently.

WHAT WE NEED:

Wellness Ambassadors: Volunteers to help spread the word about upcoming programs and keep us connected in local communities.

Volunteer Leaders: Individuals who are willing to be trained to lead various Prevention programs to small groups in the area.

Who we’re looking for:
Volunteers who are committed to helping others make changes in their lives to stay strong and live healthy.

How it works:
Programs are scheduled in advance through the ADRC. Ambassadors then work with staff to promote and recruit program participants. Leaders, once trained, will be paired with another leader to teach their program.

Adult Day Center (Green County)

Green County’s adult day center provides a safe environment for older people who are looking for an opportunity to socialize, but need some assistance during the day, while others are working or need a break from caregiving.

WHAT WE NEED:

Volunteer assistants:  to help with or lead activities, assist with meal time, and provide companionship to those attending the center during the day.

Bus Assistants: Volunteers to ride the bus to monitor and ensure the safety of program participants to and from the center.

Who we’re looking for:
Anyone with an interest in brightening the day of an older person.

How it works:
Staff set up schedules in advance based on your availability.
