Transportation

The Aging & Disability Resource Center has several transportation options available for Iowa County Residents.

CARE A VAN – The Care A Van bus provides Iowa County residents age 60 and over or people with disabilities rides to pre-determined shopping destinations outside of Iowa County. The bus travels on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.  The Care A Van bus schedule is located on this website by clicking the below link. It can also be found in the News and Views newsletter distributed to over 10,000 households in Iowa County. To reserve a spot on the Care A Van bus, please call 608-930-9835.  A monetary donation is suggested for all bus trips.

ADRC TAXI – The ADRC Taxi provides transportation to City of Dodgeville residents on Wednesdays and Fridays. The hours of operation for the ADRC Taxi are 7:45am – 3:45pm.  The taxi service is limited to stops within Dodgeville city limits plus Blain’s Farm & Fleet.  Fees are charged for this service.  Please call 608-553-0590 to organize your taxi service needs.

VOLUNTEER DRIVER PROGRAM – The ADRC has a volunteer driver program available to Iowa County residents age 60 and over or people with disabilities to transport people to non-emergency medical appointments. To schedule a ride for a non-emergency medical appointment, riders must contact the Aging & Disability Resource Center a minimum of 48 hours prior to the appointment.  At that time, we will contact our volunteer drivers to organize transportation.  A fee based on mileage will be assessed for each medical trip.  Please call our office at 608-930-9835 for more information on this service.

RURAL TRANSPORTATION – Starting in 2019, residents in outlying areas of Iowa County plus the City of Mineral Point will have a new handicapped-accessible minivan to transport Iowa County residents to appointments, run errands, or visit family or friends within Iowa County. Please continue checking this website for up-to-date information on this new transportation service.
