The Aging & Disability Resource Center has several transportation options available for Iowa County Residents.
CARE A VAN – The Care A Van bus provides Iowa County residents age 60 and over or people with disabilities rides to pre-determined shopping destinations outside of Iowa County. The bus travels on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The Care A Van bus schedule is located on this website by clicking the link below. It can also be found in the News and Views newsletter distributed to over 10,000 households in Iowa County. To reserve a spot on the Care A Van bus, please call 608-930-9835. A monetary donation is suggested for all bus trips.
ADRC TAXI – The ADRC Taxi-Dodgeville provides transportation to City of Dodgeville residents on Wednesdays and Fridays. The hours of operation for the ADRC Taxi are 7:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The taxi service is limited to stops within Dodgeville city limits plus Blain’s Farm & Fleet. Fees are $2 for the first and last stop with a .50-cent charge for any additional destinations. Please call 608-553-0590 to organize your taxi service needs.
RURAL TRANSPORTATION – Coming Soon! Residents in outlying areas of Iowa County plus the City of Mineral Point will have a new handicapped-accessible minivan to transport them to appointments, run errands, or visit family or friends within Iowa County.
The ADRC Taxi-Mineral Point will be available to Mineral Point residents on Thursdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Fees are $2 for the first and last stop with a .50-cent charge for any additional destinations within the city of Mineral Point. Call 608-553-0590.
The ADRC Taxi-Rural will be running on Mondays and Tuesdays between the hours of 8:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. All rides will be organized through the ADRC office. Call 608-930-9835 to schedule your ride.
VOLUNTEER DRIVER PROGRAM – The ADRC has a volunteer driver program available to Iowa County residents age 60 and over or people with disabilities to transport people to non-emergency medical appointments. To schedule a ride for a non-emergency medical appointment, riders must contact the Aging & Disability Resource Center a minimum of 48 hours prior to the appointment. At that time, we will contact our volunteer drivers to organize transportation. A fee based on mileage will be assessed for each medical trip.
