Taking care of someone can be hard, even when it’s someone you love. Caring for a loved one can impact every aspect of your life. Preparing and protecting yourself, working to understand your loved one’s experience, and embracing help from others can help to enhance the joys of your caregiving experience. Contact the ADRC is you or someone you know could use a little extra help. Our support group meets monthly on the Third Tuesday from 10:30 to Noon at the Dodgeville Public Library. Refreshments are served.

Dementia Support Group

Build a support system with people who understand. Alzheimer’s Association caregiver support groups, conducted by trained facilitators, are a safe place for caregivers, family and friends of persons with dementia to:

  • Develop a support system.
  • Exchange practical information on caregiving challenges and possible solutions.
  • Talk through issues and ways of coping.
  • Share feelings, needs and concerns.
  • Learn about community resources.
