In honor of promoting brain health, the DCS are offering several opportunities for individuals who are concerned about their memory and for caregivers or professionals who work with individuals with dementia.

Each Wednesday morning of June, a DCS will be available in each county for memory screening for community members. Memory screens are free wellness tools that helps identify possible changes in memory and cognition. See page 2 for additional information on memory screens. To sign up for one of these screens in your county, please call your local ADRC to speak to a Dementia Care Specialist. If you are interested in a screen but are unable to attend during the set time, please contact the DCS to set up an alternative time.

To offer some insight to what someone with dementia could be experiencing, the DCS’s will also be offering the Dementia Live experience each Wednesday afternoon. Dementia Live offers a unique inside-out understanding of dementia by immersing participants into what it may be like to live with dementia. By “walking in their shoes,” participants will gain a heightened awareness of the challenges associated with living with dementia and leave with valuable tips and tools to improve communication and connection. If you are interested in participating in this experience, please contact the DCS to sign-up for a time. Below, you will find the date and time frame for each county.
