The Survival Coalition is conducting a survey to hear from people with disabilities and the aging community about their experiences with the long-term care services available to them.

Survival Coalition is comprised of more than 30 statewide disability organizations that advocate and support policies and practices that lead to the full inclusion, participation, and contribution of people living with disability.

57 Wisconsin counties currently have Family Care/IRIS, the state’s long-term support program that provides people with disabilities and the elderly with assistance with daily tasks—like dressing, bathing, meals, household chores and tasks, getting ready for work, transportation—and management of chronic health conditions.

This spring Governor Walker announced that Family Care/IRIS will expand into seven Northeastern counties currently waiting for the program.

Eight counties remain without a definite time frame or state approval for moving into Family Care/IRIS.
