The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has once again approved the SeniorCare Waiver until December 31, 2015. SeniorCare is Wisconsin’s popular prescription drug coverage for Wisconsin residents age 65 and older. SeniorCare benefits can be used alone or in coordination with Medicare Part D. It can also be used to avoid a Medicare Part D Late Enrollment Penalty.

Funding for SeniorCare is divided between several sources, including

• 40% from drug manufacturers,
• 21% from federal sources,
• 19% from SeniorCare enrollees,
• 13.6% from State of Wisconsin and
• 6.7% from other sources.
