The Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) offer the general public a single entry point for information and assistance on issues affecting older people and people with disabilities regardless of their income. These resource centers are welcoming and convenient places for you and your family to get information and access to a wide variety of services. Services are provided through the telephone, at the resource center or in your own home. Information and assistance at ADRCs is always free and confidential!

Services

Transportation Available for Residents of Grant County

If you, a family member, neighbor or friend is having a hard time getting to:
-The doctor
-Visiting friends and family in the hospital, nursing home or in their home
-Shop for groceries
-Shop for clothes
-Having lunch out
-The pharmacy to have your prescriptions refilled
-The beauty parlor or barber shop to have your hair cut and/or styled
-Therapy appointments
-Your attorney, bank or other important places?

Aging & Disability Resource Center of Grant County offers the following: (Call 608-723-6113 or 800-514-0066 for more information).

A wheelchair accessible, lowered floor mini van is used to transport people of ALL
ages in the following communities:

Cost is only $2.00 each way and 50 cents for stops between the first and last one.

This is also a door-to-door service using volunteer drivers who use their own vehicles. Trip priority is given for non-emergency medical and important business appointments for people who are 60 and older or disabled of any age who are NOT on Medical
Assistance. Other trip requests are determined on a case-by-case basis. Trip requests should be made as soon as possible to allow the ADRC staff time to schedule a driver. Riders must be able to enter and exit the vehicle on their own or with minimum
assistance.
A fee is charged based on miles driven.

The ADRC has several vehicles available to transport clients with mobility problems (wheelchair, electric scooters, walkers, etc.) to take people to medical appointments, family events, community events and more!

Veterans Service
Transportation for Veteran’s is provided to Madison and Tomah for medical appointments.
There is no cost to use this service; however, donations are greatly appreciated.

Platteville Taxi
The City of Platteville offers taxi service to people of all ages for any type of transportation needed in the City of Platteville. Accessible vehicles are used making riding the taxi easy for anyone. A fee is charged.
Hours of operation are: Sunday 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Monday – Saturday 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Specialized Medical Transportation
There are several companies that operate specialized vehicles to provide transportation to nonemergency medical and other appointments for people of any age. The vehicles are accessible for use by persons with a variety of mobility devices. Some of the providers are:

Medical Assistance Client Transportation
Residents who are on Medical Assistance who need transportation to medical appointments must call MTM for their transportation needs. Call 866-907-1493 for assistance.
